The DISC model is the universal language of behavior. Research has shown that traits can be grouped together in four major groups. People with similar styles tend to exhibit specific behavioral characteristics common to that style.

Online Workshops For Teachers
Providing online training workshops for leaders and teachers for fuelling their professional progression. Discover and apply your true potential as a leader, teacher or homeschool parent for making a difference in the world.
Professional development is often overlooked and considered an afterthought—especially with pressing concerns around students’ mental health and well-being. The COVID-19 pandemic shook up professional development, encouraging schools and districts to rethink what this process looks like and how to best set their educators up for success and, in turn, their students.
We have found that teacher professional development involves a continuous process of reflection, learning and action to further a teacher's knowledge and skills. This leads to enhanced teaching practices that positively impact on students' learning, and their mental, emotional and social wellness.
The Self-DISCovery online training programs offer a professional pathway and an online learning center that focuses on self-reflection, and the development of human potential for both educator and child – Mental, Emotional and Social Wellness.
The world is literally changing so fast and so is the face of homeschool parenting. Whether you are navigating anxiety, stress and overwhelm, or looking for ideas to be more proactive as an educator of your child or ways to promote more confidence, responsibility and Character, then we have created these workshops for you!

Those "Ah Ha" Moments
I liked learning about each personality type and the bird associated with them. I think that identifying personalities in others is especially useful for teachers because we can better understand our students and their strengths and needs.
My second a-ha moment was identifying the personalities of the people in my family. I now better understand how to interact with each person more effectively. I like how you pointed out that we all have the qualities of each of the birds and can utilize the strengths of each when necessary. Student Teacher |
From completing the Two Day Bootcamp, I now have a better understanding of why people communicate and react the way they do to certain situations.
This understanding enables me as a Manager and Principal to communicate and approach each member of my staff more effectively, which means we all benefit. Knowing what the needs are of each DISC Birds style has supported me to better interact and communicate with my staff, parents and students alike. Principal - Middle School |
One aha moment was when I found out that everyone is a type of bird, including the students I work with. As this was being discussed I couldn’t help but picture every student I work with and wonder what bird style each of them was.
Another moment was when Dr. JJ mentioned that everyone has all four birds inside of them and we have to switch depending on the situation. This made me reflect that when I deal with my co-worker I need to switch because she is an Eagle and I can be a Dove at work. The other teacher I work with is a Parrot so, I need to adapt to their energy. Student Teacher |
Student Testimonials
A class of middle school aged children have written the following insights, using the information they were given in their DISCovering Me and You workbook, and using their own words.
I'm a Dove and I am a very social person. I like to go at a slow steady pace. I also fear sudden change in certain situations.
I get really angry and nervous under stress. I like to take my time with things. When it comes to performances I am afraid people will criticize me about my performances that is why I'm shy...
I am a "MISS Parrot with an Eagle". I am motivated by people and problems. I tend to talk a lot and always question problems. I like to have control and need LOTS of people to be around ME!! When I am STRESSED I will either dictate and get angry or talk a whole lot more than normal! ME, MYSELF and I describe ourselves as bubbly, funny, outgoing and hardworking when the time's right.
I am everyone's cheerleader (a good excuse to be very loud)...
